Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is blessed with architectural marvels and this is the reason why this city attracts tourists throughout the year. One such architectural landmark is the City Palace located in the heart of Jaipur. City Palace was built by Sawai Jai Singh who was also the founder of Jaipur. City Place exhibits a blend of Rajput, Mughal and European architectural styles. Made of red and pink sandstone, this palace has huge courtyards and there are several smaller palaces surrounding it. One of the most popular structures here is the Sarvato Bhadra or Diwan-i-Aam. It was used by the Maharajas of Jaipur to meet the general public. The ceiling of the hall is decorated with splendid crystal chandeliers. There are also two huge silver vessels in this hall known as Gangajalis. The capacity of these vessels is 4000 liters. These vessels were used by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II on his trip to England to carry the holy water of the Ganges. Another impressive structure here is the Mubarak Mahal. Mubarak Mahal was built in the 19th century by Maharaja Madho Singh II to welcome his guests. The palace has now been converted into the Maharaja Sawai Mansingh Museum. Next is Diwan-e-Khas. Here the Maharaja used to hold private meetings. The Pritam Niwas Chowk of the main palace has four small gates. These gates represent the four seasons and the four Hindu deities. Peacock Gate represents autumn season and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Lotus Gate, decorated with flowers and petals, represents the summer season and is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati. The Lahariya Gate is green in colour and represents the spring season and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The Last Gate is called rose gate. This gate represents the winter season and is dedicated to the Goddess Devi. Chandra Mahal is one of the most important buildings in the City Palace complex. This palace is still the residence of the royal family of Jaipur. city palace jaipur city palace jaipur city palace city palace jaipur royal family city palace jaipur guide city palace jaipur ticket price jaipur city palace of jaipur city palace museum jaipur city palace jaipur tour guide city palace jaipur inside city palace jaipur india jaipur city city palace jaipur tour Support me by subscribing: ‪@ChikuTheExplorer‬ Business/Collaboration: [email protected] #citypalacejaipur #jaipurtouristplaces #jaipur #rajasthan
