Rajiv Mathur (Shahid Kapoor) is mocked by his friends for not having a girlfriend. When they plan a couples-only trip to Alibagh, Rajiv decides to propose to Payal (Amrita Rao), his childhood friend, so he can be included in the trip. Payal, thinking he genuinely loves her, accepts the proposal but is disappointed when she learns the truth. Heartbroken, she breaks up with him.
