SPOILER ALERT! I just recently beat the game and I know its been over a month since launch so it's almost irrelevant to upload this now but I just had to, the ending was such a great way to lead to the other MGS Games For those who want a much clearer summary of what just happened, here's a link: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/718564... For those who do not want to click the link, here's the summary from the link: If you have played the secret mission number 46 then this explains it all, so here we go. Ahab ( The Player ) is not actually Big Boss. He is the medic that got wounded saving The REAL Big Boss during ground zeroes. This can be shown when you "Under go" plastic surgery, which is actually what you used to look like. Ishmael is actually the Real Big Boss. At the end of mission 46, during the ambulance crash we see Ishmael climb out of the wreckage with the help of Ocelot. He removes the bandages and reveals his true face. He then leaves and starts the outer haven project, knowing that the "Look alike Ahab" now looks like Big Boss, ergo the world will be chasing the wrong man. This is ultimately proven when solid snake kills the fake Big Boss in Metal Gear. The real Big Boss is shown in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, with no robo hand, scars or horn shrapnel. So long story short ; Ishmael = Real Big Boss Ahab = Doppelganger to trick the world (The Link above is as much credit as I can give to the person who best explained this scene) It's honestly crazy to know the whole game was lying to you from the very beginning.
