8. Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk | Lopi Plotulopi | Knitting Progress | Wool Warehouse Haul | Part 1

This video was filmed on 20th December 2021. Hi Everyone! If you love seeing fibre, fabric, thread and yarn close up then welcome to my channel! I love everything fibre and show my favourite fabrics, yarns and sewing/knitting accessories etc while describing and explaining what I have learned in my sewing and knitting journey. In this video I show my first order from Wool Warehouse. Actually my first two orders which I combined for the video. The first order was me exploring more shade of Drops Brushed Alpaca which although I hadn’t worked with yet, I was intrigued by the look and effect it would give combined with yarn I had already bought. The second order was me discovering the Istex brand and Plotulopi in particular. I had seen a lot of Lettlopi and Plotulopi and was curious about the texture and feel which many described as rustic, scratchy or even harsh. But the shades of this wool is what really drew me in as they are superbly heathered and complex and just what I like yarn to be. I’m keen to experience other beautiful shades from this brand although these have been out of stock whenever I have browsed for them. The pattern I keep referring to as Christchurch (for some reason!) is actually from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas and is called the Big Wool Basic Beanie. It’s a free pattern from Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr... This video is quite long as I’ve decided to update on my knitting progress within these fibre order videos so bear in mind that towards the end it is mostly me discussing my knitting endeavours and you can skip if you like. I'm learning a lot about both crafts but am in no way proficient at either of them. This channel is as much about my mistakes as it is about my successes in these endeavours. I am not sponsored or paid by any company. I'm simply giving my own opinions on purchases I have made and paid for myself.
