The EIT Food TrustTracker® - a tool to map consumer trust in the food chain

The EIT Food TrustTracker® is an evidence-based tool that has been developed to map consumer trust in the food system and track the development over time. Since 2018, yearly surveys reveal how much trust Europeans have in the different stakeholders of the food supply chain and how much confidence they have in their food products and food technology. In these four years, data from more than 50,000 Europeans from 18 countries (BE, CH, CZ, DE, DK, ES, FI, FR, GR, IE, IL, IT, NL, PL, PT, RO, TR, UK) were analyzed. The aim is to survey more than 100,000 consumers before 2024. The project is conducted by a consortium of five partners including the University of Reading, University of Warsaw, Aarhus University, KU Leuven, and the European Food Information Council (EUFIC).
