Electric SXS UTV's are here and are already causing problems. while I have yet to see any on the off road trails in Utah, mark my words, THEY ARE COMING. Polaris Kinetic EV is hitting the showrooms soon as well as a slew of new entries to the sport. Battery power equipment is everywhere and it's not without its serious faults. if you think the Polaris RZR catching fire was bad, wait until its lithium batteries exploding. This happened at this years SEMA show. Even before it's big debut, this electric SXS started smoking. We ride in the desert, the mountains, through the mud, usually when it's hot outside. This can't be good. I don't think the tech is there yet. I absolutely know where these fit in, day work, golf courses, ranches, farms, etc. They will do really well in that in and out environment. I just don't think we're ready for them in the wild. I get the want for power and more environmentally friendly engines, but it this the best that the smartest engineers in the world can come up with? that's not the worst of it though, that part comes in the video… While Heavy D Sparks got to charge around in the Tesla powered SXS, don't expect the general public to get that level of performance.
