I occasionally film weekends in my life as a business owner, runner, concert-goer, thrift shopper, etc. living in Black Mountain, NC (20 minutes outside Asheville). I filmed this one on the weekend of September 20-22. When going back to edit it, I got the most eerie feeling... I realized this was the last normal weekend in Asheville and Black Mountain before Hurricane Helene. I was happily hanging posters for cute little fall events having no idea that they wouldn't happen. And the area shown in this video where my group runs on Saturday mornings, the River Arts District, was totally destroyed in the storm. And while myself, my partner, our pupper, and our home are all okay, there are SO MANY people in WNC who need help.
