Just 18 kms South of Whistler, sits a meadows secluded and surrounded mountains. The incredible views from Brandywine Meadows and Mountain was well worth every step taken and moment spent on top. Date: July 4, 2020 Weather: Cloudy, no rain, moments of sun and slightly clear skies. We started hiking up the Meadows from the lower parking lot at 10am. After 3.5 kilometers hiking up the steepness of the trail, hoping over logs and going aroung mud puddles, we finally reached the meadows greeted with packed snow. We continued towards north of the meadows to set up our camp close to the base of the mountains. The weather was mostly cloudy but without rain. We spent the day enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains, cooking food, playing games and chatting with our friends in our camp. On the 2nd day, we hiked up the trail leading to Brandywine Mountain. The first 1/4 of the way was slopes were covered in snow which made it quite challenging depsite having microspikes. After a kilometer or so, we reached to the top of the first bank where we were seduced with unbeliveable views of distant mountains. The sky was clear and the sun was beaming and reflecting off from the snow. Good idea to put sunscreen on and sun protective gear on. After about 2.5 hours hiking up the snow and scrambling over rocks, we finally reached the peak of Brandywine Mountain. Greeted with 360 views of surrounding mountains Mount Fee, Mount Cayley, Black Tusk & Garibaldi Lake. Well worth every step!
