1) LUAU (Drive Like Jehu Cover) **Warning: Get a bucket, you may throw up...it's THAT sick...all 12 minutes of it! Notes: This is the first of several "Grab Bag's" that I am planning to share with everyone. I taped the entire Troubadour show and plan to share the entire video as the band, show, crowd, audio and video all were amazing that night. I have been holding it back for years, and now it's time to share it all up as time permits. My recording of the Trouby gig is a covetted recording that I have only traded twice, EVER and asked it not to be shared or traded. I am over that now...free to trade it...and I am going to remaster it from the original tapes to Bluray soon! The audio is a matrix mix of a digital auidio audience recording from down front on the floor mixed with my cam audio from the balcony...nausiatingly clear and intense throughout! This has to be the crown jewel of all I have ever video taped I think over the years! The second Audio Source is an A+ recording, and the only reason I bothered to blend it with my slightly overdriven cam audio was that the taper (maybe AL T? or his friend) was a bit TOO close to capture the PA Vocals in the mix...vocals were low in the mix anywaybut my audio added enough to make it sound more or less normal, while enjoying the clarity and warmth of the digital taper on the floor near the stage. I hope you enjoy it as much as everbody there did...this was to be the last ever LA performance of Hot Snakes, so the close-out encore of LUAU was astonishing and jawdropping. The rendition was amazing, perhaps only bettered by the recent Jehu reunion show, or Jehu live...back in the day.
