Replace Front Wheel Hub and Bearing with Portable Press! - Toyota Camry - Easy How To

No need for a high torque impact driver, 6 foot breaker bar or shop press to get out and install FWD bearings! I combined components of two kits (FWD Front Wheel Drive Bearing Adapters Puller Press Replacement Installer Removal Tool Kit - AND- a 10 Ton Hydraulic Knockout Punch Hole Driver Kit) to squeeze out old bearings and squeeze in new bearings in steering knuckles. To squeezed out old bearings, I've been using my high torque impact wrench to torque twist the forcing screw nut. This places wear and tear on my impact wrench, makes a lot of noise and runs down the battery pack. Also, depending on the quality of the hub and bearing adapter kit, the forcing screw and nut may wear to to point where galling can ruin them. So what did I do? I screwed in the forcing screw into the hydraulic cylinder and used one of the knockout punch threaded adapters to adjust the screw pull length. The hydraulic cylinder has about 1 inch of travel. After the bearing has moved 1 inch, I release then tension on the forcing screw, remove the slack using the punch adapter then continue pressing the bearing out.
