another favorite folk tune of mine. jean ritchie first made it famous when she recorded it 1952 - apparently it was a “gamesong” sung to accompany set dancing :) I found a discussion thread on an online forum from 2001 where someone was asking about the origin of the tune, and jean herself answered !
