Enduro Bike Set Up For Big Mtb Riding

Getting a mechanical out on the mountain sucks! Getting your bike set up for big rides can help with this. Here is Andy from Ride Southern Spain giving his best bike set up tips. 1. Tyres - For ultimate protection and grip you will want; Tough Casing, High Pressures, Wide Rims, 2.4 - 2.6 Inch Tyres, Tubeless Setup and Foam inserts. Taking these tips will allow you to reduce PSI to increase grip whilst still being protected from flats. 2. Brakes - Ideal set up would be a Quad Piston set up to reduce fade on big descents. Give the brakes a bleed and take spare pads with you also. 3. Suspension - Set your sag between %20-30 so you are riding in the correct part of your travel. You can also insert tokens so the fork sits up when hitting compressions. 4. The bike itself ideally wants to be between 150mm - 170mm of travel as well as being fairly long and slack. This makes steep descents easier and the bike is more stable at high speeds. 5. Service - Before going on a big bike adventure, Give your mtb some love and get a service. This doesn't need to be a complete overhaul from Evans costing £££s. New Inner/outer gear cables, Brake bleed and gear tune should see you well.
