I want to share a few strategies that can improve your Digital SAT math score to maximize your study time! 0:00 Introduction In this video, I will be providing five tips to help you navigate the math section of the Digital SAT. Let me know in the comments below if you have any other tips, or if any of these tips did or did not work for you. 0:20 Tip #1: Know how to graph! This is an absolute MUST for the Digital SAT. You need to know how to type math equations quickly, how to interpret parts of the graph to answer questions, and how graphs change when you manipulate them. https://www.desmos.com/calculator -- USE IT!!!! 1:48 Tip #2: Read the question! Those pesky writers at the College Board just can't leave us alone. If you lose focus on reading questions critically because this is the math section, you will lose valuable points. Do not let yourself fall for careless reading errors. 3:12 Tip #3: Practice going from screen to paper. This is a new skill that people need to obtain, since some of us will need to transcribe parts of the problem to scrap paper. This is especially important for negative numbers! Practice, practice, practice! 4:26 Tip #4: Categorize questions You need to figure out paths to solving questions. You begin to develop this by knowing what strategies are relevant to which questions. Start with the general category (ex: quadratic equation) then concept (ex: number of solutions). Then, figure out what strategy is easiest and fastest for YOU. 6:50 Tip #5: Be confident! To all of you watching this video, I cannot stress enough that confidence is key. In this game, not believing in yourself is letting the College Board win! Our brains are incredibly powerful, so feeling like you suck at math will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Confidence is built with prep and understanding the test.
