Easy Lift Equipment DC Powered drum dumpers are the safe and ergonomic solution for picking drums from the floor or a pallet and transferring them to a tank or hopper for dispensing. ED models are available with a variety of clamps that offer either 180-degree forward rotation or 360-degree side rotation. This model features our 180-degree forward rotation FCR clamp. Before using the equipment, the operator should perform a visual inspection of all the hydraulic lines and fittings to check for any leaks or damage to the machine from previous usage, as well as verify that all control functions are in proper working order. All controls are located on the top of the DC cabinet for easy accessibility to the operator, including switches for lifting and lowering, clamping, or unclamping, and a 180-degree forward rotation of the clamp. It also includes a red safety switch for the clamp function to prevent accidental release of an elevated load. If any damage or issues are located, contact a supervisor prior to using. All DC powered units include two 12-volt AGM deep cycle batteries which are housed in a closable cabinet with a hydraulic lift motor, internal charger, master disconnect switch, and ‘gauge-type’ battery discharge indicator. To begin charging ensure the Drum-Dumper is turned off. A polarized heavy gauge extension cord is required to connect the unit to a standard 120-volt wall outlet. Do not operate the drum dumper while charging or with the extension cord plugged in – doing so could cause damage to the unit. Charging times range between 6 and 8 hours. The charger has separate indicators for each battery, which turn green once complete to ensure a full charge. Once testing is complete and the equipment is fully charged begin by turning on the equipment and disengaging the foot floor lock to begin application. The FCR clamp is designed to handle plastic, fiber and steel drums from 20 to 24” in diameter. The clamping jaws are lined with slip resistant SBR rubber for a durable yet secure non-marking surface to grip the drums. When approaching the drum open the clamp and press the lift switch “Up” so the clamp is in line with the center of the drum or in-between the two center ribs. Push the drum dumper forward to clamp the drum. It is recommended to apply slight forward momentum when clamping so the front of the clamp meets the back of the drum ensuring a secure grip. Only lift the drum to the minimum height needed for proper floor clearance before transporting to its destination. Darcor ergonomic casters allow the operator to easily maneuver the fully loaded machine with minimal effort. The clamp rotates at a controlled speed enabling easier positioning and to accurately dispense the drum 180 degrees forward into a tank, hopper or mixer. When dispensing, never leave the unit unattended. Never, under any circumstances, should you lift or suspend loads over people. ED drum dumpers are also available in safety yellow powder coating as well as full 304 stainless-steel construction. FDA and Stainless-Steel construction include food grade grease, food grade hydraulic fluid, and corrosion resistant lift and rotation chains. For plastic or fiber drums a stainless-steel pony hold-down or foot assembly are available to ensure additional support for the drum when being rotated. As well as the adjustable clamping pressure option for regulating the clamping force on more sensitive drum materials. Popular additional options available for this model include, a small drum adaptor for gripping drums as small as 14” in diameter, a scale system for dispensing by weight or performing inventory, and a pail adaptor specifically for handling five-gallon pails.
