Last portion of our roadtrip in Southern Spain. We started in beautiful Ronda. Ronda is known for its cliff-side location and a deep chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the town. It's "Puente Nuevo" is the tallest of the bridges in this location, towering 120 m (390 ft) above the canyon floor, and serves as some of the city's most impressive features. The "Plaza de Toros de Ronda" is the oldest bullfighting ring in Spain built in 1784 with Neoclassical style by the architect José Martin de Aldehuela, who also designed the "Puente Nuevo". We continued our roadtrip to the town of Mijas. Although Mijas pueblo almost entirely consists of white houses beautifully scattered along the mountains, officially it doesn’t belong to the famous route of white villages (“La Ruta de los pueblos blancos“). The reason lies probably in its geographical location – too close to the coast. The main attraction of Mijas is its beautiful narrow streets white cute white houses with terracotta roofs. All the buildings are neat and well maintained. Flowers in typical blue pots make them even more attractive and photogenic. Another attraction of Mijas is its numerous viewpoints. You can see the coast, nearby villages and in good weather even Gibraltar! Our last (and brief) stop was the beach at Puerto Banús in Marbella. Puerto Banús Beach, located in the most exclusive enclave along the Costa del Sol, is considered by some "most glamorous beach you can find in all of Marbella" (glamorous lies in the eye of the beholder"!)
