The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a classic Halloween story based out of this location. The author, Washington Irving, is buried at this cemetery. I'm pleasantly surprised just how beautiful this cemetery is with the Pocantico River running along side it. Some other notable people resting here are Andrew Carnegie, Carl Schurz, Elizabeth Arden, Thomas Beer, Walter Chrysler, William Rockefeller, and the local veterans of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and the New York Guard.
