Qu-bit Nebulae v2 vs Make Noise Morphagene (Granular and Timestretching) Eurorack

I couldn’t make up my mind, so i just bought both of them. I have been testing them side by side. They partly cover the same ground (Granular sampler with time stretching capabilities). I made this video to show the differences in sound and behavior on the granular side. The Morphagene runs the latest firmware (155) with “smooth gene window” turned on. I think the Nebulae has a bit more to offer having a double life as an open source DSP platform with an extensive library of off the shelf alternate instruments. The only con sofar is that a recorded sample is NOT being saved on the USB stick. I wrote an e-mail about this and they told me that they will take care of that in a future update. The Nebulae has a lot of functions straight out of the box. Todo for QU-bit (asap): Make it possible to save the settings because turning off the Nebulae will reset all the settings, so if you have a nice patch don't turn off the Nebulae!!!. Also make it possible to save a recording onto the USB-stick. (These are the two main struggles i bumped into) As for the Morphagene. Make noise did a great job with the new firmware update. I didn’t try al the new features yet, but it sure does look good. The only thing is that you have to make choices. All the new features can be turned on/off by editing a text-file on the sd-card. Further information can be found on their website. Both bring joy and pleasure and that’s where it’s all about. I will keep them both because they make an awesome team. When it comes to the granular part i have to be honest: The Nebulae needs less tweaking in order to find a sweet spot and it sounds cleaner, but this is also a matter of tast.
