Our first time seeing a steam train in action was worth the wait! Baldorty Inc Productions proudly presents the rail rock star of Michigan, the Pere Marquette #1225 aka the Polar Express!! This is our chase of her return trip from Ashley, MI to the Steam Railroad Institute in Owosso on her first weekend excursion this year! We start in the small town of Bannister! After about a forty minute wait we saw her acting as rear DPU on the 10 passenger car train with ex Amtrak F40PHR #310 leading on the return trip back to Owosso. We gave chase to just outside Elsie and saw her pass by at two different rural crossings and 1225s crew were nice enough to blow her steam whistle for us at the crossing on Riley Rd as they passed by! We rode along in a caravan of railfans and saw her at several crossings and finished with one last catch on Robbins St in Owosso! Such a fun experience for our first time seeing steam in action!
