HURRICANE MICHAEL DESTROYED THIS PARK! BUT IT'S BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER! It's taken almost 5 years but after the devastation of hurricane Michael left St. Andrews State Park in ruin they have slowly been rebuilding... from scratch. We're happy to say that almost 90% of the campground space is now open and what you'll find is as close to a perfect, brand new, well designed campsite as you'll ever see. We were fortunate enough to spend a week there this late winter and we were just blown away by all the wildlife present in this park. The only downside?... there's little to no privacy or shade. Thanks to the hurricane winds and 4-foot waves most of the waterfront vegetation and trees were just wiped out to sea. They'll come back one day but if you can look past that you'll find an almost perfect waterfront/beach experience that's just a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of Panama City Beach.
