When I bought this it had a cheap Boss radio and everytime I got out of the truck the radio stayed on until I pushed the power button. The prior owner cut off the factory harness. I went to a local salvage yard and cut one out to replace it. After getting the factory harness in place it was time to put in a new Pioneer radio. I wanted something more modern and had more power and features. I have had this for a while. The new adapter allowed the retained accessory power to work. This means the radio stays on until the door is opened or the system times out. I also installed new door led lights and made sure all the speakers were hooked up correctly. This video shows you how to install a new radio in your silverado or sierra truck. Double din radios look good in the silverado and the factory one doesn't have any good features.
