This is the story of a 33 day, 515 mile walk on the ancient Spanish pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, the famous Camino. This is a 5 part series, detailing our experience on the Camino Del Norte route, starting in Bilboa in early October. The tale is filled with lessons, history, mishaps, amigos, food, and learning how to let the Camino be the Camino. Join us for Part I of this lighthearted adventure: The Struggle. Struggling to find the route, struggling to find food, and struggling to figure out how to plan. Our first 3 days on the Camino del Norte were not at as blissful as we anticipated. However, these 3 days were critical to getting us into the Camino mindset, and shedding the expectations that held us back from adapting. This is where the story begins. In August of 2023 we left our corporate jobs to find out what it is like to live around the world. The fall of 2023 was spent exploring Europe, visiting friends, and learning our “travel style”. These are those stories :). Currently, we are living in South America for the next six months traveling at a much slower pace & LOVING it.
