QCAD Tips & Tricks for Newbies QCAD is an affordable and easy to use CAD (computer aided design) program that is a great asset to design RC model airplane plans. www.QCAD.org You can download a free version of QCAD at their website. The free version has limitations, obviously, but can easily be upgraded to the professional version. The cost of QCAD should you purchase the professional version is around $40 USD. I have used TurboCAD for around 20 years, but decided to see what other CAD programs are out there. QCAD is a very useful 2D CAD program. The program is very intuitive, it seems to understand what you would like to do next. Icons have useful reminders when you hover over them and there are speedy two letter quick keys for each command. I go over some of the tips and tricks for getting started with QCAD, see chapter list below. I intend to offer additional videos showing how to use QCAD to draw a complete set of model airplane plans.
