Floors Castle is, undoubtedly, one of Scotland's most beautiful Castles. It's located near Kelso in the lovely Scottish Borders. We visited this August and had an amazing time and thoroughly recommend visiting. Floors is the ancestral seat of the Duke of Roxburghe and is currently the family home of the 11th Duke & Duchess of Roxburghe. It's actually the largest inhabited house in the whole of Scotland! It was built in the 1720’s by the architect William Adam and subsequently remodelled by William Henry Playfair in the 1830’s. It’s thought that he designed it with many of the features you see in Donaldson’s College in Edinburgh (and George Heriots School) As well as the beautiful castle interior, there are beautiful gardens and woodland, riverside walks, which I hope you’ll enjoy seeing in this video. We thought the tea-rooms were great and can thoroughly recommend the outside terrace overlooking the beautiful walled garden - it's an amazing spot.
