We had a real chance to break the world record of 8.09, but it would require an absolute perfect run on each stage. Stage 2 was one of the most challenging stages I've come across while speedrunning deep dives. Not in terms of difficulty itself, but routing/planning. Due to the black box progress rate changing with the amount of players in the zone, it required a lot of math and precise routes. Additionally, with the previous deep dive world records, you could click 'abort mission' once in the drop pod and the mission timer would stop. This saves up to 8 seconds of time per stage, for a total of 24 seconds. This was patched a couple months ago, so having a 24 second disadvantage was killer. Had we run our best times on each stage, we would have had a total time of 8.07 - breaking the world record. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and had to call it. Nonetheless, we had a blast trying to beat the world record!
