Durango

EN: Our trip to Mexico two years ago was simply indescribable. We rarely travel, especially not that far. We spent almost two months in Mexico, with rudimentary knowledge of Spanish, because the Mexicans don't really speak much English. For one month we lived in Durango in a private accommodation. This song shows a few impressions of this beautiful city and hey, those are real silver spurs in the picture and they were correspondingly expensive, the equivalent of several hundred euros (per pair, mind you). The horse I ride is called Gringo and is as old as he looks. Lyrics Doris Kluin Durango [Verse 1] In the heart of Mexico, where the colors blaze, Victoria de Durango, lost in time’s embrace. Silken air whispers tales of the past, Where iron once flowed, and shadows were cast. [Chorus] Oh, Mexico, your spirit shines bright, From the old mine town to the starry night. With laughter and warmth, you welcome me in, In your vibrant embrace, my journey begins. (Victoria de Durango, a love shine so bright) [Verse 2] Western dreams linger where the cowboys rode, John Wayne’s footsteps on the dusty road. In Paseo del Viejo Oeste, I ride through the sun, Savoring flavors, as if my life’s just begun. (Oh oooh, a love shine so bright) [Verse 3] Morning’s soft chorus, as water flows free, Cleaning the streets, a daily community’s glee. White herons nest high in the parc trees, While the horses trot by, dancing with ease. [Chorus] Oh, Mexico, your spirit shines bright, From the old mine town to the starry night. With laughter and warmth, you welcome me in, In your vibrant embrace, my journey begins. (Victoria de Durango, a love shine so bright) [Verse 3] Morning’s soft chorus, as water flows free, Cleaning the streets, a daily community’s glee. White herons nest high in the parc trees, While the horses trot by, dancing with ease. (Oh oooh, a love shine so bright) [Bridge] In the market’s embrace, where flavors collide, Scorpions on bread, they are a daring meal. The night comes alive, with stories to share, In Durango’s heart, a lot adventure beware. [Chorus] Oh, Mexico, your spirit shines bright, From the old mine town to the starry night. With laughter and warmth, you welcome me in, In your vibrant embrace, my journey begins. [Chorus] Oh, Mexico, your spirit shines bright, From the old mine town to the starry night. With laughter and warmth, you welcome me in, In your vibrant embrace, my journey begins. [fade out]
