Exploring the New Bidadari Park: Bike & Walk Tour 🚶‍♂️🚴

New Bidadari Park Tour: Bike and Walk Adventure 🚶‍♂️🚴 Join me on an exciting bike and walk tour of the newly opened Bidadari Park! This tour takes place on the first Saturday since its public opening on September 3rd, 2024. Starting from Sang Nila Utama Boulevard at 6:30 PM, we'll explore this expansive park, which spans more than 18 football fields and features a 5.2km network of scenic trails. Discover the breathtaking Marshland Boardwalk and the 20m-tall raptor nest platform, perfect for birdwatching enthusiasts. Kids will love the Adventure Playwoods, with its 5m-tall treehouse playground and climbing nets. Don’t miss the serene Alkaff Lake, where you can enjoy picturesque views from the viewing deck and explore Rain Tree Island. Inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh, Bidadari Park blends nature and adventure, making it a perfect spot for family outings. End the tour with a stunning view from the Woodleigh Mall link, and learn about the park's unique features, from its flood-management system to its role as a haven for migratory birds. Bidadari Park, inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood from "Winnie the Pooh," is a new green space that features a recreational lake, extensive trails, and a treehouse playground. The park occupies over 10% of the Bidadari estate, spanning an area equivalent to 18 football fields, with a 5.2 km network of trails. Opened to the public on Tuesday, September 3, the 13-hectare park is bordered by Bidadari Park Drive, Bartley Walk, Upper Aljunied Road, and Sang Nila Utama Road. It is conveniently accessible via Bartley and Woodleigh MRT stations, the latter located opposite Alkaff Lake. The park's design embraces the estate’s original wooded and rustic character, blending nature into the urban landscape. Alkaff Lake, a 1.8-hectare feature of the park, is the first of its kind in Singapore. It serves both recreational purposes and as a stormwater retention pond to mitigate flooding in the estate. The lake can hold up to 40,000 cubic meters of water—about the size of 16 Olympic pools. During heavy rainfall, water levels can rise to 4 meters, submerging nearby footpaths. A sensor-based warning system ensures visitors are alerted in advance. The park also boasts unique natural areas, including a marshland that forms after rain, providing crucial habitats for amphibians, insects, and water-dependent birds. Visitors can explore this area via a boardwalk with a pavilion designed to resemble a bird's nest. One of the park’s highlights is the Adventure Playwoods, featuring a 5-meter-tall treehouse playground with climbing nets, slides, and an observation pod. Inspired by the area’s rich birdlife, the 4,500 sqm nature play garden mimics the open woodlands. Another key feature is the 20-meter-tall raptor nest platform—the first of its kind in Singapore parks. This structure provides a perch and nesting site for raptors, such as the white-bellied sea eagle, enhancing the park’s bird-watching appeal. In addition to recreational features, Bidadari Park preserves its historical roots. A heritage walk next to Alkaff Lake recounts the area's past, including a memorial garden and storyboards that will be progressively completed over the coming year. Whether you're here for a relaxing walk, birdwatching, or family fun, Bidadari Park has something for everyone Bidadari Park Singapore parks Bidadari Park tour Bike tour Bidadari Park Alkaff Lake Bidadari Park adventure Marshland Boardwalk Raptor nest platform Adventure Playwoods Singapore nature trails Winnie the Pooh forest Birdwatching Singapore Family fun Singapore parks Nature parks Singapore New Singapore park 2024 More about SIT Punggol campus:    • SIT   More about Punggol:    • Punggol Singapore
