In early June we spent a week visiting central California, including two days at Sequoia National Park, an impressive nature wonderland just to the south of neighboring Kings Canyon. It is here at Sequoia that we hiked among the world’s largest trees, ascended a stone staircase to magnificent canyon views, and ventured into a marble cave highlighted by subterranean streams and mineral formations. This is our two day itinerary. Here we saw tunnel rock, hospital rock, amphitheater point, and hiked the Big Trees Trail where we were humbled by the largest living trees on the planet DAY TWO On day two, we entered the park from the north, driving along highway 180, briefly through Kings Canyon, and then to major milestones along Generals Highway, including General Sherman Tree, Moro Rock, and Crystal Cave.
