This helps support the channel and allows me to continue to make videos like this. 1. Is the car on the lot? Or do they need to bring it from another dealership for you? The reason why this is SO important is because it may add unnecessary complications or delays in them getting you a car, especially if it's hard to find or if they need a deposit before they get it for you. Visit SaveOnMyAuto.com and when you're price shopping make sure to ask if the vehicle is IN STOCK! 2. How many days has the car been on the lot, and how many miles does it have? Sometimes customers will get shocked to find that a car has several hundreds of miles on the car, or the car has been sitting on the lot for longer than a few months, and this can raise questions like: a. how many places has this car been? b. was the car used as a demo/test drive car? c. is there damage on the vehicle? 3. What is the "in-service date" of the car? This one is particularly important if you're purchasing a new car and plan to keep it long term. This is when your warranty starts. It's possible that some dealers, especially volume dealers will "punch" a car as sold in their system to remove it from their billing and stop accruing interest on it through the manufacturer. This however can be crucial to you because if you've purchased it way past the point of the warranty starting, you will lose a good chunk of time that it's covered under warranty! 4. What is the FINAL OTD Price. Not the discounted Selling Price. The reason why is that if they give you a discount amount initially, and they finally bring out the paperwork you may be shocked with a bunch of additional unnecessary fees that are meant to recuperate the discount. 5. What is your lowest interest rate for the BEST score OR even better.. "MY credit score?". This will be met with hesitation because they will want to run your credit. Purchase and HAND them your FICO Auto Score 8 and have the finance manager estimate for you. I have a link in the description where you can purchase your FICO Auto Score 8 to keep handy while shopping. If they cannot provide an estimate, you really should consider shopping for an Auto Loan. One resource I recommend is Supermoney.com which there is a link for in the description as well. 6. If it's a lease, What is the money factor? The money factor is the lease's interest rate. 7. Are the payments inclusive of tax, and is the total amount "down" or "due at start" inclusive of all fees and first payment. This is IMPERATIVE because the word "down" for a lot of dealers simply just means in addition to the inception and startup fees. 8. This is not something I generally recommend, but if you plan on buying any warranty or wheel/tire protection, ask exactly WHERE the coverage can be used and if it will be honored at any dealership. Make sure to research the company backing the warranty. For instance, BMW's Wheel and Tire Insurance can be used at any BMW dealership and is sold by a reputable company called SafeGuard insurance. 9. How much TOTAL interest is being accrued on the loan or the lease? This question is designed to put the finance officer on guard. This will need to be listed on both the loan disclosure or the lease agreement, and if it doesn't match your calculations, they will need to explain why or quickly correct the mistake. 10. Who is the GM of the dealership and can I meet him or have his business card? You will be SO surprised how useful this will come to be later on in case of any issues. --------------------------------------------- new cars, how to buy a new car, how to negotiate a new car, brand new car shopping, car shopping in 2019, car dealership scams and tricks, car dealerships, car dealer,
