Hi friends, welcome to episode 45 of Songs From Home…today we’re “Keeping The Faith”… I wrote this song years ago after reading an interview with the poet Seamus Heaney, who very simply outlined the importance of keeping faith in our everyday selves, our dreams, our internal compasses that always point us toward the things that matter- like truth, honesty, empathy... If you can keep the faith, there is always the reasoning that you might let it go too; the times we are living in right now test all of us... Keep keeping the faith, don’t give it away... Election day approaches (please solidify your plan to VOTE if you haven’t already) and these final two days leading up to it are a time of tremendous anxiety, fear, exhaustion, you name it, and I haven’t even mentioned the pandemic. I heard a quote the other day from @Stacey Abrams: “I am not optimistic, I am not pessimistic, I am determined”. I too am determined. And I’m keeping the faith.
