Gw2 | Cerus CM | Embodiment of Sin | UNIT + Rebound | Heal Alacrity Scourge | Commentary

DISCLAIMER: This is not a guide! You should already have knowledge of NCM mechanics as well as the standard UNIT strat before watching this video. After getting LCM ~2 months ago, I formed a static to get Embodiment of Sin (EoS) as well. We progressed the fight over 4 evenings of about 2h each, refining & switching up our strategy, making steady progress each day with lots of sub10% & even some sub1% tries, until we killed it after ~40min on day#5. In the end, a combination of practice, our strategy, & luck got us this kill. If you're interested in getting EoS too, check out the Void Lounge (  / discord  ) & Temple of Febe CM (  / discord  ) discord servers. For our comp, we chose to run with 3 healers while bringing Scourge & Chrono portals for UNIT strat as well as 2 Tempests for Rebound. The heal Tempest also brought Lightning Flash & Superspeed to help delete orbs & get to certain locations faster. However, keep in mind that Scourge's Transfusion will lose its downstate pull on 2024-10-08 balance patch! UNIT strat: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... Major changes: 1) In p1 (100-80%), my first Scourge portal is replaced by a Chrono continuum split (CS) portal (see 0:22), the Malice target drops the Malice right on the portal for pathing reasons (see 0:33), & I then immobilize the first Malice add up to 3 times via Dagger#3 until we phase to 80% while sending my Flesh Golem on the Malice too to cripple it (see 0:57). 2) In p2 (80-50%), the first Chrono portal has to be placed in CS (see 2:25) in order to be able to use the Chrono portal instead of my next Scourge portal (see 2:46). 3) In p3 (50-10%), the Chrono uses a CS portal for the final Malices just to be safe (see 7:25). This portal is actually shown in the Chrono PoV linked in the UNIT strat sheet. 4) In p4 (10-0%), I use another Scourge portal after the Chrono portal to get us back to the boss and provide barrier to everyone who takes the portal (see 8:31). Minor changes: 1) Shortly after the 1st split during the first Rage add & Despair drop, I provide a convenience Scourge portal (see 1:59). 2) At the start of p3, I use my portal ~120° instead of 180° (straight across) so that we don't have to sidestep but can just take it back immediately after the Rage AoE disappears (see 4:23). 3) I use Corrosive Poison Cloud (CPC) 1st during double Gluttony (see 2:22, 3:40, 4:40, 5:52). For EoS, p1+2 are the same as in NCM. To trigger EoS, we kill the Regret Embodiment again in the 2nd split, so from then on we've got Empowered Gluttony (orb collection) & Empowered Regret (triple green) to deal with. For Gluttony, this means we get 5 orbs instead of 3 for each collection, & the Insatiable debuff lasts for 3min instead of only 1min. With our 10% phase timing, all stacks from the first empowered collection in p3 (see 4:40) will be gone when we reach the Chrono portal sub10% (see 8:22), so we only have to make sure to distribute the Insatiable stacks properly starting at bad collection (see 5:54). We solve half of the triple greens using Anchor-Prio1-Prio2 strat (see 5:26, 6:34, 8:04), & the other half using Rebound (see 4:19, 5:40, 7:11, 8:34). Our healers are the Anchors who never move & get a symbol each (Arrow, Circle, Commander tag). Prio1 moves if there's no green on their stack to a stack with multiple greens, or if there are multiple greens on their stack & they have a green to a stack without green. Prio2 moves only if they & their anchor have a green to a stack without green. For this strat to work, proper prestacks are very important. Here's the green practice sheet I found on VL discord: https://docs.google.com/presentation/... For the other half (g1, g3, g5, and sub10% #2), we use Rebound in both subgroups. For that, we stack 2 greens on the double healer subgroup & one green on the Scourge subgroup, use Rebound to not get downed, & then heal everyone back up again. We don't want Rebound to trigger on the Scourge subgroup as Scourge is a barrier healer & all barrier before Rebound triggers is just wasted, & the double healer group can heal everyone back up fastest. Log: https://dps.report/AtlX-20241005-2001... Build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSAFgEG7... Disclaimer: I bring Sword mainly for its mobility. Our Virtuosos are expected to use Focus#4 for Swiftness uptime, so I can drop Febe relic & use Mercy instead to get downed players back up more quickly & with more health.
