Monster Hunter: Rise - Sunbreak: Hunting the "Primordial Malzeno, True Lord"

"Primordial Malzeno" is an Elder Dragon and Variant of Malzeno first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. It resembles a normal Malzeno but has a sturdier appearance, with its body, wings, and head crest covered in silver and gold plates and blades resembling armor. The gold parts of its body have become a darker color. The Qurio are no longer present, with the chest patch replaced by thicker armor plates. Its red wing membranes are now dark bluish-purple, and its horns are less twisted. When infested by the Qurio, it enters a "Bloodening" state, where its scales become duller, clusters of Qurio gather on its arms and chest, and Qurio energy appears between the prongs of its tail. Further Qurio corrosion develops this into an advanced "Bloodrage" state, with the silver armor becoming blackened and its wing membranes tainted magenta. If injured enough, it can immediately enter the Bloodrage state without going through the Bloodening. When severely injured, Qurio swarm it and seemingly burn it, causing it to enter the "Bloodlust" state. In this form, its scales and armor turn completely black, and its wing membranes, mouth, head crest, and gaps between its scales glow with fiery orange light, similar to the Risen Elder Dragons in their Risen states. As the original form of Malzeno before its symbiosis with the Qurio, it boasts superior physical strength, agility, and durability from its armor. Compared to the original variant, it fights more like a knight, using its physical strength flexibly and effectively by wielding its armored wings for offense and defense. Despite its strength, it is precise, able to stab Qurio out of the air with its wings. With just its physical prowess, it can overpower or repel powerful monsters like Scorned Magnamalo, Velkhana, and Gaismagorm. Unlike Malzeno, it refuses to use any Qurio and will kill any that approach. However, if distracted, the Qurio will attempt to bond with it and force it into the Bloodening state. Despite the forced symbiosis, its superior physicality allows it to wield Qurio power more effectively, using their energy for powerful and violent attacks. As the infestation progresses, it develops into the Bloodrage state, becoming more aggressive, with more devastating attacks and increased speed, using the normal variant's "teleportation" multiple times. However, the Qurio-covered parts on its body weaken, and dealing enough damage to them will end the state and topple it. If near death, the Qurio will swarm it and overload it with energy, transforming it into the Bloodlust state. In this form, its aggression, speed, and strength dramatically increase, enabling continuous attacking and teleporting. Unlike the previous states, the Bloodlust state will not end until it is slain or successfully purges the Qurio, but its struggle against the symbiosis causes it to become fatigued more frequently. Unlike Malzeno and most Elder Dragons, it is a rather peaceful Elder willing to coexist with humans, once revered as a protector of the Kingdom who judged evildoers. It is intelligent, shown by its skillful limb use and understanding of emotions like gratitude or hatred. However, it can be intensely territorial, and once provoked, it retaliates with extreme ferocity and destructive ability, as seen in its battle with Gaismagorm and the Qurio. Its fighting style is elegant and knight-like but becomes brutal and underhanded as the Qurio continue to influence it. It is bitter enemies with Gaismagorm and the Qurio for invading its territory and hunts down Qurio while resisting their control. Even when infested, it continuously resists the symbiosis, appearing to struggle constantly. The reason is its view of the Qurio as a plague against its kind.
