In this video I sit down with Matt Nelson, President of CGC. Matt started collecting comic books at the age of 14 and by the mid-90s had been named the youngest-ever Overstreet Advisor. Soon thereafter he founded his comic book restoration company Classics Incorporated. CGC purchased Classics Incorporated in 2013 and Matt went to work for them leading CCS, during which time he oversaw an overhaul of the restoration grading guidelines and the introduction of the Conserved grade. Matt became Primary Grader at CGC in 2016 and eventually authored the Official CGC Guide to Grading Comics. He was named President of CGC in 2021 and continues to lead the company today. In his career he’s handled some of the most important and valuable comic books published.
