Emerging Research and Perspectives to Engage Your Campus in Suicide Prevention and Promote Wellness

Dr. Swanbrow Becker has dedicated over a decade to improving people’s lives through designing effective mental health prevention efforts and helping individuals develop to their full potential. This presentation will explore the challenges of preventing suicide and mental health distress on campus, as well as ways to improve mental health. Participants will learn how to improve the efficacy of prevention efforts and create a vision for a campus culture that empowers students, faculty and staff to promote campus wellness. Dr. Swanbrow Becker will also address the need to change our paradigm of how we think about intervening with student mental health to more fully support our communities and how future suicide prevention and mental health promotion could emerge.
