TRN KIRIN - The Honest Planar

We must give credit where it's due and the truth is TRN has of late been making a concerted effort to keep up with the trends. After the flagship model the BAX, which was the companies first Tribrid, TRN now comes with the Kirin, which is a planar IEM and again a first for TRN. The Kirin sports a 14.5mm Planar magnetic driver and has a very competitive price of 129$. The Kirin has a stand out feature, 3 different tuning nozzles with different inner diameters and lengths. According to TRN this is supposed to make the Kirin sound more adjustable to its users but in reality I didn't see significant differences. Worth mentioning is also the overall look , which has hints of steam punk ! On the subject of the noozles , the two shorter ones, reference and transparency, graph almost the same, while the longest, atmospheric is the one that in my opinion accentuates the minor faults present on the Kirin. Sound wise the bass presentation of the Kirin is good, even comparable to the S12 and some dynamic driver IEMs, with the lows being thick and full-bodied. It has a good impact (punch), with a very nice texture. Mid-bass is again well textured, has excellent resolution and punch, all of which help make the Kirin feel as if it was a V8 under the bonnet and not an anemic 4 cylinder. Overall I feel that the technical performance of the bass is quite impressive for the price. This speed and control of the bass are what helps give the mids of the Kirin this great tonality and timbre.....everything is very natural and lifelike, both vocals and instruments! The Kirin has airy treble, but is neither harsh or fatiguing. There is the right amount of "sparklies" and "twinklies" , with only a very minute hint of sibilance, which I attribute to the recordings. True the P1Max and S12 are superior, but it's not like the difference is huge....the Kirin keeps up better than expected. To sum-up the Kirin has good resolution, good detail and an organic and natural sound that maybe some will feel does not convey the true planar experience, but in my books it's the best TRN thus far, and all of this done at a highly competitive price of 129usd......after all the Dioko costs 99usd but does not bring a modular cable or adjustable tuning noozles. :::::Purchase Link::::: *********HIFIGO********** https://hifigo.com/products/trn-kirin https://hifigo.com/products/shuoer-s1... https://hifigo.com/products/tinhifi-p... https://hifigo.com/products/qustyle-m15 ****CREATIVE**** https://us.creative.com/sxfi/ :::::Cable Purchase Link::::: **HAKUGEI** https://www.aliexpress.com/store/9122... **XINHS** XINHS Official Store https://a.aliexpress.com/_mq4Z7Bs ::::: PLAYLIST ::::: https://open.spotify.com/track/2oFNUr... https://open.spotify.com/track/1GXKsw... https://open.spotify.com/track/1nb9sZ... https://open.spotify.com/track/1Okpix... https://open.spotify.com/track/3fgwpk... https://open.spotify.com/track/23dPqe... https://open.spotify.com/track/58u2WA... https://open.spotify.com/track/6Ip3L1... https://open.spotify.com/track/5ayH2d...
