Since people liked my first look at failed blades on Forged in Fire, here is another commentary. And perhaps this will make people who claim that I'm too hard on swords in my tests think twice. :) THIS is some crazy stuff... Vertically smashing a blade full force into a massive block of hardwood or going berserk on huge bones fixed in place is merciless, if you ask me. But again it's worth keeping in mind that viewers too easily criticize Doug Marcaida and the other judges for their form. A poorly designed handle can throw off edge alignment significantly, and a dull edge will turn on impact. Is there room for improvement in their technique though? Let's take a look.
