There are a few notable items I missed: 1. Neck Profiles: 1950’s had a thicker Les Paul bat style. Early 60’s they made the back of the neck a bit thinner, and in 1965, the neck diameter thins out as you get closer to the first fret. 2. 1967 more J-160’s start to come through with a wooden saddle. But the earliest example of a wooden saddle on a J-160 was the one Lennon got from Manny’s as a backup while on the 1965 U.S. tour. 3. 1967 they brought the crown on the headstock lower to be more centered between the A and B strings. 4. Late ‘68 into 69’ some came with an upside down bridge base. ^Im sure that list will grow as I learn new details. Stay tuned for a Part 2! I called Gibson customer service twice, and emailed to get more information on year ranges and models. unfortunately nobody could help me. One gentleman told me they stopped making them around 2012 which is clearly incorrect. They didn’t care to help me and rushed me off the phone as fast as they could.
