NOTE: There is a DEBATE on my "Dead Cold Motor" for the valves. This is the best way from my experience to get a consistent result when you do your valves but by all means, explain why you warm your motor in the comments. GOAL: The goal of all of this is to have the valve last match the numbers below but change the shim to the correct size. When you measure if it's too tight try a thinner shim, if it's too loose try a wider shim. Use math if you need to. Example: INTAKE measures .15 on the feeler gauge. Remove the shim and measure it with the caliper. Your caliper reads 1.50. Since it is too WIDE your shim should be .05 thinner. Open your shim kit and take out 1.45 and install it. Now your .10 feeler should be good (Barley dragging as you pass it in the gap). Valve lash is to wide math: Measured .15 - spec of .10 = .05 to WIDE Shim is 1.50 - .05 = 1.45 (new shim size) Valve last is too skinny math: Measured .05 - spec of .10 = -.05 (If its negative its to skinny) Shim is 1.50 - -.05 = 1.55 (remember minus a negative can be changed to plus a positive) INTAKE VALVE LASH: .004 inches / .10 mm EXHAUST VALVE LASH: .007 inches / .19 mm Tools I used: *Caliper https://amzn.to/3yDghkZ *7.48 OD Shims https://amzn.to/3Iy5cpB *Feeler gauges https://amzn.to/3RuQVy4 *Magnet Stick https://amzn.to/3IvgCKS VOSS HELMETS! 10% off or CODE "SMALLENGINEVELOCITY" https://www.vosshelmetsusa.com/smalle...
