Sewing Machine Gear Replacement and Synchronization

I'm no expert and first time working on a sewing machine, but after the 40 year old gears cracked, and the machine stopped working, I got it working by putting on two sets of gears. This video shows only adding the hook gear, but shows how I was able to synchronize the motion of the various parts of the machine so it was able to sew again. Notice I'm not claiming that this is the optimal, perfect, fastest, best way to fix your machine, just what I happened to do, which seems to have worked. I feel that sometimes someone who knows nothing about these things can highlight details better than the expert, who is not explaining with "beginner's mind". So, I bought "SINGER FEED GEAR SET Model 502 507 509 513 514 518 522 527 533 534 538 543 560 +" from eBay, and also bought "SINGER Hook Gear Set 103361AS Fits 513, 533, 534, 833, 834, 6105, 6136 & More" from eBay. So I presume this video would be helpful in many machines. Mine was a 534. In order to replace the feed gears, you need to loosen the allen screws and slide the long shaft towards the power supply side, and in fact remove the power supply to get it far enough to get the new gear on. I don't show that in the video. The video starts after the feed gears are in place and the short shaft is in place. The long shaft is still free to slide. Then the video shows how I got the feed synchronized with the needle and how I got the hook synchronized with the needle. Now that I'm looking more closely at what's available on youtube already, I might not have bothered shooting and editing this (it's a lot of work!) but hopefully someone will get some mileage out of this.
