The optional Leviathan boss fight in the Final Fantasy VII Remake can be pretty tough if you aren't sure what to do, so in this video I provide a rundown of the most effective method I've found for beating him. It's worth doing as you gain the Leviathan summon materia as a reward! This was done on normal difficulty. I mention in the video that the Chocobo and Moogle materia is good but I don't really explain why - it's because Leviathan has resistance to fire and ice meaning Ifrit and Shiva are ineffective. Fat Chocobo is also a decent summon option if you have it. Also, while he has a weakness to lightning, he has a resistance to magic, so just use your elemental materia to give your weapon lightning properties and don't bother actually casting attacking magic at him as it'll barely do anything. Barret's Big Bertha weapon is available to buy at the Sector 7 weapons shop in chapter 13. The owner has relocated into Evergreen Park with everyone else after the plate collapse and you can buy it there. If you're in chapter 14, the good news is you can still go back and buy it. If you want everyone's level 2 limit breaks, including Barret's Catastrophe that you see in the video, you can obtain them by doing the solo fights in the Colosseum.
