THE STORY OF GEN'S ICE GLIMMER, AMERICA'S TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE

Here Nancy Amons, award winning WSMV Channel 4 TV investigative reporter, tells the story of Gen's Ice Glimmer, TWHBEA #24704770, Blood Type #TWT050457. It is a tale of Big Lick TWH Animal Cruelty where a noble talented good natured Tennessee Walking Horse was tortured for 9 years. His front feet were seared with burning scarring chemicals , and then they were beaten with chains while wearing almost 8 lb shoes on each front foot. Glimmer was confined in a small stall the entire time. The worst was when Glimmer was tortured at the MTSU (Middle Tennessee University in Murfreesboro) on April 5, 2013. It occurred at the "MTSU WALKING FOR EDUCATION HORSE SHOW", and ironically MTSU is known for its Horse Science Program. Over 10,600 persons have signed a Change.Org Petition asking MTSU President Dr. Sidney McPhee to follow the University of Tennessee, and the University of Mississippi, and sever all ties with the Big Lick Animal Cruelty. Glimmer's life of Big Lick horror ended on July 28, 2015, when he was rescued at a livestock auction in Cookeville, Tennessee. Glimmer was brought there with no hope and a one way ticket. Glimmer's destiny was to be sold to a "killer buyer" and then shipped to a slaughter plant in Mexico. Concerned people would not let that happen and they stepped in and saved Glimmer. Gen's Ice Glimmer is now America's Tennessee Walking Horse. He has a compelling story to tell to all who want to know all about the Big Lick Animal Cruelty and will work to see it never happen to another horse like Glimmer.
