It made its first appearances in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope as the Incom T-65B model. The X-wing starfighter was the all-purpose starfighter of the Rebel Alliance and was Known for its versatility and exceptional combat performance. It possessed deflector shields, an R2 astromech for repairs and navigation, and proton torpedoes. Compared to the TIE fighter, the X-wing is said to be slower and less maneuverable in space but has superior firepower, defenses, a fast hyperdrive, and four laser canons.
