Topwater Snakehead Fishing in the Fall (Hot Bite?!?!)

Topwater Snakehead Fishing is one of the most fun kinds of fishing that you can do. Every fall, we hope that the topwater bite lasts as long as possible! Snakehead fishing has been great for us here in the late summer/early fall this year. That being said, I was curious to see if the hot topwater bite would continue this long into the autumn season. IMPORTANT NOTE: While Snakeheads are a non-native species, biologists have discovered over the last few years that the damage they cause to the ecosystem is not nearly what was once expected. Many bodies of water containing these fish have successfully adapted to their presence. I encourage you to thoroughly research the data that is out their regarding snakeheads before you make an uninformed comment saying that we should have killed the fish. That being said, everyone is entitled to their opinion regarding these fish. We simply ask that your opinion be formed on actual data and research, not what you heard from a friend or read on facebook. The body of water that we fished already has a healthy population of snakeheads. Killing a few fish would do absolutely nothing in regards to eradicating the species from that body of water. Instead, you'd be wasting the life of a perfectly good gamefish. Here at Orange 22 Fishing, we encourage you to practice catch and release on all species of fish, including snakeheads.
