Step 1: Go to the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, click on the FIND AN APPRAISER button and put in your zip code. Step 2: Make sure that person is a GEMOLOGIST by seeing GG or FGA after their name. Step 3: Make sure the appraiser you hire has experience appraising the items you need to be appraised. Example- if you have antique jewelry, you must have appraiser with experience appraising antique jewelry. Step 4: Get references. You can also get references from appraisers themselves.
