Lena Raine and Kim "SOL" Sowon - The Cycle Ends - with my analysis in the subtitles

0:00 Anorchestral prelude. I think the intention of the beginning without any gugak instruments is to indicate that the Dragons are from all over Tyria. There is brass, strings and percussion. The melody that strings play is quite similar to Mordremoth's theme, brass melody reminds me about Kralkatorrik, and percussion implies other Elder Dragons. 0:31 From this moment on to the prelude joins Soo-Won, which is implied by Pansori and janggu (an hour-shaped drum), that is most of the time, if not always, accompanying the singer. You can recognize janggu, because it's played using a bamboo stick: one hand is holding it, and occassionally you will hear it. 0:46 At this moment Pansori slowly fades, and you can hear a wonderful sound of daegeum (a transverse flute), which I can hear was heavily edited. The rich, membrane sound of this type of flute (similar to dizi) is usually implying chaos. I think daegeum in this track is used to represent the Dragonvoid - which causes Soo-Won's Pansori to fade away. "There is an ocean of void, and you are already drowning" 1:04 This is a percussion segment, accompanied by orchestral strings. You can hear the gong kkwaenggwari, I believe also geomungo and janggu. It's a beautiful interlude that implies Soo-Won is fighting back. 1:19 And that's why at this moment Pansori reappears - it's a battle cry, a tragic call for help... 1:45 And as the Pansori fades... softer melody begins to play - Aurene reassuring Soo-Won "The Void will never beat us, if we stand together", and the soft piano in the background is playing a soft Aurene's theme. 1:59 I just love this moment when a wonderful yanggeum starts to play - it gives me a feeling of relief, before the final push. 2:14 An incredible synth begins playing, and soon after Pansori reappears with incredible brass, janggu and kkwaenggwari. "There is only Void...there is only Void...there is only—(gasp) I...I can feel its grip loosening!" 2:49 The whole track ends with an orchestral strings segment, creating a dramatic, but unburdened resolution. Pansori is a vocalization technique which differs from singing, because it's supposed to be loud, clear - all sounds come using Danjeon (hypogastric) breathing. There are three ways of vocalization of pansori: the first one is to make the sound straightly, the second one is to tremble low note, the third one is to bend the note. It also uses specific rhythm - jangdan, which also has three types of keeping beat in the song - each one is faster than the other. Unbelievable contribution of Lena Raine - Composer known for compositions such as: Battle on the Breachmaker, Mordremoth, Blish's Theme, Largos Twins. Outisde of GW2, is known for composing award-winning Celeste. Dedicated to Soo-Won
