Passing on the tradition of Mando to the next generation. On the 18th of May 2023, we got an opportunity to present Goan performances for the Konkani Extravaganza organised by the Konkani Community of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bahrain. Out of the five acts we presented, MANDO & DULPODS was one of them.  It started with the idea of Menino Fernandes. It was his vision to see that we pass on our Goan tradition of Mando and Dulpods to the next generations. He wanted the youngsters to be the main singers in front, supported by the seniors at the back. We carried forward his vision, as we got a group of young as well as not so old beautiful  singers, alongwith talented musicians all of whom are Goan parishioners of our Bahrain church. We worked under the guidance of Freddy Fernandes who made beautiful changes to the original music. We overcame many obstacles, worked hard and I guess we were able to give a decent performance. The musical instruments used are guitar, violin and ghumot(drum). The name of this Mando is 'MOG' AMRUTH JIVITACHEM, hence the theme is love. It expresses the various forms of love: brother - sisterly, parents - children, and ofcourse between lovers, which in present times is diminishing with wars and hatred.
