Welcome to Feeding the Byrds! You guys sent me your favorite Holiday Appetizers and we got to try them! I love all of these ideas and we had so much fun trying your recipes. Corn Dip: -15 oz. corn can, drained -4 oz. green chilies can, diced -1/4 cup onions diced -2 oz. cream cheese softened -1/4 cup sour cream -1/2 teaspoon garlic powder -1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese -1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese -crackers or tortilla chips for serving Preheat oven to 350 and grease a small casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside. In a small bowl, add drained can of corn, diced green chilies, diced onions, softened cream cheese, sour cream and garlic powder. Mix well until combined. Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup shredded pepper jack cheese. Spread corn mixture into prepared pan and top with remaining 1/4 cup pepper jack cheese. Bake dip for 20 minutes until bubbly on top.. Broil for an 2-3 minutes to crisp and brown the cheese on top. Be careful not to walk away as a broiler moves quickly and easily burns when unattended. Serve corn dip hot with crackers. Pamela's Sausage Stars: -2 cups cooked sausage -1 1/2c grated sharp cheddar cheese -1 1/2 c grated Monterey Jack cheese -1c. prepared hidden valley dressing -1 2.25 oz can of sliced ripe olives (I use black) -1/2 cup chopped red peppers -1 pkg won ton wrappers -olive oil Preheat oven at 350 Blot sausage dry with paper towels and combine with cheese dressing olives and red peppers. Lightly grease a muffin tin and press 1 wrapper into each cup, brush with oil. Bake for 5 min empty until begin to get a golden brown. Remove from oven fill with mixture and bake 5 more min or until it bubbles. Makes 4 to 5 dozen. (This mixture works great with Crab or Chicken too.) Bacon Wrapped Breadsticks -3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar -3 tablespoons chili powder -1 package thin-sliced bacon (16 ounce size) -1 package thin breadsticks/grossini(3 ounce size) Preheat oven to 350F. In a pie plate, combine brown sugar and chili powder; set aside. Cut bacon in half lengthwise. Wrap 1 piece of bacon around each breadstick/grossini. Roll each breadstick in brown-sugar mixture. Place breadsticks in a single layer on a cooling rack. Place rack on a foil-lined 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
