There was a celebration in Hexham Market. All onlookers were amazed as time travelers from the last 800 years joined the celebrations to mark the 800th anniversary of the signing of the first Charter of Hexham Market. There will be famous Hexham people, such as Hannah Glasse and the Duke of Somerset dropping by and there will be everyday people from the past too. A spokesman for the Town Council said: "Will George Lee get caught washing his pants in the pant again? What on earth is going on with all the pigs running around the marketplace? Town Criers and Hexham Mayor Derek Kennedy were also there. Also attending the celebration were Boho Arts, Newcastle Array, Stage Fright, Tynedale Community Choir, A Batida da Rua, Orla Doogan School of Irish Dance, The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, Studio K and a very special memory shared by Gateway into the Community and the supreme sheriff of Northumberland.
