Produced by http://www.tmbv.com The Porter Branch was once part of the Michigan Central. It crossed the New York Central's "Water Level Route" in Porter, Indiana. The diamonds were removed over 40 years ago, but the Michigan Central line north of the old NYC mainline is still used today by Amtrak. The MC line south of the old NYC line is controlled by CSX. It was common to see Santa Fe, later BNSF freight trains entering and leaving Porter Branch. The crossing signal is a somewhat unusual Safetran model. Notice the bracket holding the gate arm. The crossbuck has stronger lettering which is very similar to older cast iron and porcelain crossbucks from decades past. Locomotives seen are NS 6663 SD60, Santa Fe 621 C44-9W, and BNSF 6399 ES44C.
