Two finger banjo arrangement by yours truly. It clearly seems related to the song “Oh! How He Lied”, which is in 3/4 time, but how they connect is a mystery to me. The tune sources to Henry Reed (collected by Alan Jabbour). Mr Reed could not recall the name, but his son Dean was fond of the tune, so it was archived in the Library of Congress as “Dean Reed’s Favorite”. Played uptempo it makes a fine dance tune.
