We learn about Khushi Apa’s experiences prior to and during the liberation of Bangladesh and how they influenced her desire to become a post-war activist – and the role model for many across generations. From Anam, we learn about her desire to share cross-border perspectives from the 1947 Partition of Bengal to the 1971 Liberation War and how everything is interconnected. She shares her attempt to stay truthful to the people’s stories and maintain an unbiased approach to storytelling – and how to connect children to bridge intergenerational mistrust and divide. The objective of the ANGON podcast is to encourage across-border dialogue. ANGON envisions opening up a thoughtful dialogue without any boundaries on hierarchies, genders, religions, or other illicit topics. The ANGON team found each other thanks to Transforming Narratives in an effort to build a self-supporting network with one common change narrative, which illuminates solutions and propels them beyond the podcast series. The podcast shall remain a platform for artists and cultural activists from South Asia to share their views on contemporary topics, to explore their common identities and to facilitate cross-border networking.
